I need help finding more power... more reliable power! I love spending money modding things, I hate spending money FIXING things, get it? Ok my current mods are....

4inch straight pipe, AFE Stage II intake, Edge Juice With Attitude, 4.56 gears and posi rear, auto.

My immediate mods are a FASS (not sure which one yet please make suggestion), I'd like to get a banks technicooler, again open to suggestions, and a 5 inch turbo back (no cat) exhaust (leaning towards Farmboy but he never replied back with shipping quote, wtf mate? )

But what then? I thought about sending in my Edge to make it HOT. Stack another programmer? Order injectors? Modified CP3? Head studs? Ultimately I'd like to do compounds but I want to do all the supporting mods prior to buyin them so I can just install them asap when I get them. Im sure Im going to have at get a built tranny too. Open to suggestions, this is a daily driven work truck too.

If Your Gonna Get A Fass Just Go With The 150 Gph One Cause Why Not.the Next Mod After That I Would Think A Set Of Injectors.can Never Go Wrong With Injectors.then I Look Into Your Compounds.and Yes Your Gonna Need A Tranny,those Things Dont Hold Out To Well.

Stacking the Juice or upgrading to the Hot version will call for a Tranny. If it were me, I would:
1: Full tranny, or atleast VB, TC, Flexplate
2: FASS (I like Airdog better)
3: Fuel pressure and rail pressure gauge
4: Either get a Smarty (will most likely relagate the Edge to just gauges), or get something that adds pressure. Puck, Quad X2, Edge EZ, Diablo Predator.
5: Turbo. The edge alone gets things hot, stacking it will get things hotter
6: Sticks

I would look into airdog instead of FASS I've got one on my truck and I love it! Also the edge will run great when stacked with an EZ or Mp8 trust me youll fall in love with your truck all over again:thumbsup

Awesome thanks..... but I need a lil clarification and recommendation.

First off whats in Gooses list what are sticks (#6)?

Second can someone kinda explain what stacking does and why do I want to do it???

Third can someone point me to a link or a comparison for the FASS and Airdog, I guess I see alot of members running the FASS so im choosing one cuz of the majority here.

Fourth which companies do you recommend for these mods (injectors, turbos, cp3, tranny, etc etc) I've been kinda looking at mostly ATS products for some reason, but again Im open to suggestions from people that have experience in these products.

Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions that have probably been asnwered 1000 times, but I cant find the answers. and I wanna make sure I use the experience of other cummins owners to my advantage so I get things done right the first time. If anyone has any questions regarding the stripclub business I'd be glad to help HAHAHAHAHA

Im going to order my fass i think in june, and Im working on a deal for a banks intercooler with another forum member. So which injectors and power level do you recommend, and which company makes the best tranny?

Ok now you got me thinking here...... how do you install them? Does one connect to the other one? Or am I competely wrong? I was thinking about sending my Edge in for an update and make it HOT or would it be better to ditch the Edge and get a programmer that does both timing and boost, etc? Which company does make a programmer that does both? God there are so many factors! My head spins!

As far as transmissions go, Goreands are the best from what everone says, just do a search for them. I went with Suncoast, mainly because I was in Florida, very close to their shop when I rebuilt my tranny. I am very happy with it.

If you keep the edge, get the hot unlock and turbo timer. Alot of folks bash the Juice, but it is very capable of being in the low 500's for HP. Just stack it with a pressure box. But to get full benifits you will need to get that FASS system and do something with the CP3. The Juice has one drawback in my opinion, it gets your EGT's HOT quick! So a turbo will also be necassary sometime down the road to get the full potential from this stack.

I recently got a Smarty and it is AWESOME! It has more power than my Juice/X2 stack, is smoother all thru the power band, and my EGT's are lower. I add alittle pressure with the X2 and HELLO MAMA!:woot: This programmer also needs a turbo upgrade for it's full potential.

Either way you will be happy, just be sure to get the suppoeting mods taken care of.

If it were me, I would upgrade and stack the Juice with a pressure box since you all ready have it. Keep working the supporting mods as you are, and start stashing away for a turbo, cause no matter what, the stocker won't keep up. Then if you need/want more power get the Smarty. Now you will have a Smarty, pressure box and full suppoeting mods. You can play around with using the Juice, us the attitude for gauges only, or sell it in the classifieds and get between 400-500 bucks for it.

goose thanks for the reply! If you were to get a new programmer would you recommend the smarty? If so what is the model? I have no problem selling my edge for a programmer thats better. What is the best combo that everyone likes? Like I said I want to do a compound setup but im not sure who to go with. There are so many companies that I want reliable mods cuz this is my work truck first and foremost so it has to start in 100 degree weather and -30 degree weather! Im going to order a banks intercooler tomorrow, the fass in june, then i'd like to get a modded cp3 and injectors, probably need headstuds, then tranny, and then turbo. But somewhere in there do a new programmer if necessary. What should I expect to pay for a new tranny too btw? Thanks!!!

The smarty rocks, you could run the s04 or s06, the s06 replaced the s04, no diff in them just that the s06 works for all cr 5.9's and the s04 only works up to 05, you could download the new Revo, I was not happy with it, I thought the 4.11 that came on the smarty was stronger or download the TNT, this tune kicks :butt: I too went form edge to a smarty and I wont go back, I liked my edge but it was not giving me the power I wanted.

BUMP so I got my Airdog 150 this week, im going to install it next week. I installed my Banks intercooler. Im looking at the Arson CP3 because its cheap and maybe a smarty. My new question is which turbo should I get? So many choices. I dont want to run NOS so im either going to do a compound setup or a big single that doesn't require NOS to spool. THANKS!

Do you tow at all?? I loved my aurora 5k it was sooo much fun but I tow heavy and all day so it was a bummer... although my smaller twins dynoed within 6 hp of the aurora.. I am glad I did the aurora just to see what a big single was like but in my opinion i wouldn't own another truck without twins...:beer

If you want to keep from fixing things then quit wasting money on items like intercoolers and stick's and turbos!

Get your tranny done then work around that. IMHO you wasted money on the intercooler your stocker was fine untill you got alot of other mods done first. The stock sticks are good to 600-650hp+ you currently dont have any thing that will drain your rail to justify modding the CP3 and 4" exhaust sure isnt hurting you. You need to sit down and figure out what you want to do with the truck before just jumping off the deep end buying parts because every one else has them...

I'm goin to take your advice and start looking at trannys. The only reason I bought the intercooler was it was a great price.

Sometimes I just want to drop the truck off at a shop and say this is what I want, make it happen and I'll pay the bill when its done. So many things are needed but im not sure which order to get them in HAHAHAHA. To confusing at times.
