The truck is street driven and used to dyno and drag race. I have a fully built tranny with billet shafts and drums, race clutches and valve body. The converter I have is too tight for me and wont allow me to build boost while shopped. I would really like to get a converter with a stall speed around 2500 rpms and needs to be able to hold 1000hp. Im getting conflicting info from different tranny shops and i need some help. Shoot me some ideas on what yall think would work for me. :banging:

With that kind of power I'd recommend a triple disk. Who built your current tranny? They should be able to build you a looser converter with no issues. How tight is your converter that at even 900hp it's still to tight? Converters tend to loosen up the higher power you are. Call up DTT or Goerend or Suncoast. Any of them should be able to build you a converter to fit your needs.

How long have you had your triple lock ? Shoot Dunrite a call, ask for Rip. I suspect he (I) might work with you on a stall adjustment. 503.654.9004

Wouldn't you eliminate the VP somehow and use a mechanical pump of a 12v? I'm not sure if this is even possible, just thinking that 900 hp on a VP would be pretty rough....

whenever it comes time to build up my transmission a little bigger, I am going with Dave. He called me about 2 months ago and he was going to ship me a complete transmission. I instead bought a bike and decided to wait for a tranny but when it comes time, Dave will get the call!

you could ppump it but you loose drivability with that much power on a ppump with a vp you can just adjust by push of a button.
i would go with goerend for a tranny they are very good trannys and great service and you can get a lifetime warranty a goerend is going in my dads 12v this summer its nice that they are in iowa i can just drive up they install it and drive home the same day

Thanks for all the info. I think im going to call dunrite first and see if i can get this converter to work and save a little money.
The truck made 721hp with a 64mm turbo, a HRVP and a 2 stage nitrous setup (.051 and .116 jets). Now with a larger
turbo, p-pump 24v and the same nitrous setup it made 806 with the .051 jet only. Didn't run the second stage because it was running out of fuel around 4500rpm. should make close or hoping for over 1000hp after fixing the fuel problem and the second nitrous stage.
