He's notorious for spewing nonsense.
All you gotta do is look at his post history and it becomes clear. I've been telling him that too for a while now, glad others are seeing thru his BS and calling him out.

GVWR is carying weight, not towing weight. But you wont understand that so go tell the transmission manufactures that they "really only need 2 gears" not 8 like the one you bought. IDIOT! o_O
So much for responding like an adult. But weight is weight, pulling or carrying. Your answer doesn't carry water.

Just where did I say that two is the same as eight? I explained why eight is better, but it isn't why you think it is. Two work very well behind the lower HP engine because of torque multiplication. That's the fact.

Ya, keep telling yourself that. 2 speeds, 8 speeds what's the difference!!! LOL!!!!!! :LOL: "torque multiplication" is like MAJIC! Just ask GAmes!!!!

There is a difference between and 8 speed automatic transmission and a 2 speed automatic transmission, and I know why 8 is better than 2. I tried to explain it to you, but it's a waste of energy. I don't need to tell myself anything different.

You are not worthy of any more of my time.

By now no one expects you to understand. Please let all the transmission manufactures know that they don't need al those extra gears they put in because 2 will do the same as 8. Be sure to tell them all they really need is "torque multiplication" because its MAJIC! All those thousands of semis on the hwy were made with way too many unnecessary gears! :ROFLMAO:

You actually know very little, so you run to YouTube or whatever Google hits on first and try to pass off (mostly incorrect) that information like you actually know about it.
You're incredibly transparent.

You might need to take a break from forums, I can't imagine it's easy to fit all that knowledge you look up and post word for word in that brain without overloading it.

From personal experience, a fully splined mainshaft won't completely prevent it on a 2wd. However the OP has a 4wd, and it can be fixed on those. Essentially they sell a spacer (the link from @johnstangl appears to be one) that fits between the transfer case and the 5th gear nut, and so the nut literally cannot back off without separating the xfer case from the transmission.

A new main shaft requires a complete disassembly of the transmission, literally every part has to come off/ out of the case.

It can be done at home with a manual and some special tools, but most leave that job to the pros (like Standard Transmission and Gear I linked earlier).

I say throw the band-aid on and see how long it lasts. If the band-aid fails, then start looking at a complete rebuild, just MHO.

Wow, a business that’s sells parts says that their product is the best and thats it’s only product in existence that will fix your issue.

Wonder if any other parts retailers have thought of that marketing strategy???Seems like a solid way to sell parts to people.
I agree completely. Not sure if there really is a 100% fix.
