I am in the process of changing my front bumper and found a plug that isn’t plugged into anything on the drivers side by the fog light harness. I also have a block heater on the other side but this looks similar to the aux switch plugs under the hood. Did Ram prewire the bumper to the aux switches?

Do you have fog lights? You don't show your trim level.

Yes I do have fog lights and the upper plug is for that harness. It is a 2016 bighorn megacab with the upfitter switches.

The front park sensor plug would be an 8 pin connector with 8 wires going into it.
I best crawl under my rig . I just removed that stuff to add a HD bumper. .

Do you have remote start? If not, does that plug reach the hood latch?

It does have 8 wires so that may be it. The truck does have remote start but no parking sensors up front. This harness has never been plugged into anything. Here is a better picture.

I actually have this same plug in the back of my truck. I haven't looked in the front. I also have the aux switches. My immediate thought (and I thought I found some documentation from FCA about it too in the body builders guide) was that at least the one in the rear was put there to make it easier to wire in aftermarket lighting or whatever, and the front might be the same.

The plug he is holding in his hand in post number 9 is, without a doubt, the front park sensor plug. I have the schematics right in front of me with connector diagrams. The rear park sensor plug would be similar, but only 6 pin plug with 6 wires into it.

I mean, that would make more sense as those wires would be very thin to carry any real load that far, but just seemed strange that I have the same (or a very similar) plug around back on mine. Come to think of it, I believe mine only had 6 pins because I remember it matching up to how many aux switches there were. I have rear parking sensors though so I'm not sure what it could be for.

Thanks guys. I was hoping it was presided for extra accessories but I guess not. I’ll just tie it back up out of the way.
