i was changing the fuel filter the other day and was looking at the valve cover tag and it said 305hp. but i have a 4 speed tranny. is this maybe a swap or a different tag? i dont know wether this is 47 or a 48. thanks in advance. ps i couldnt find any other posts on this but if there is i would geatly appreciate it. plus, is this the HO enigne for the 04 year?

no that is normal, and if i recall correctly all the 305 had the 48re. yes its the HO. the SO is a 250 or 235 if its a cali truck.

03 and 04 trucks, had the 305 HO motor for the most part with the 48re auto
i have seen a 03, 250 hp truck with a 48re auto
check your glove box, and if its an 03 or an 04, most of the time the white sticker on the glove box door will have the codes and such, it will tell you there whicg tranny you have, and what gears etc
