My Stainless Diesel 2nd gen swap s467.7

Well first I want to thank Dave and Frank from draconian for setting me up with my kit and tunes. I first contacted them both while I was on deployment inquiring. When I got back 2 weeks ago I called Dave after a couple emails and had my 2nd gen swap, billet s467.7 83 1.0 ordered along with some custom tuning. Tonight the UPS man showed up with my goodies. So tomorrow after I get off work I need to buy a Allen socket for my manifold bolts and possibly some flex pipe for the time being if I can't get to an exhaust shop in time this weekend. I'll post pics of everything tomorrow along with the tear down and install. The kit looks nice no complaints.

Well I started my swap tonight. Got old manifold and turbo out as one unit wasn't too bad. ended up draining all my coolant which is fine with me I'll pick some up tomorrow along with some flex pipe just incase I can't get my exhaust fabbed up. Old downpipe is removed and new manifold is installed.

Tomorrow morning I'll head to the store to get some heater hose and coolant and flex pipe and get her finished up. I got Stainless's earlier kits because now you don't have to get anything for the coolant system all the heater hose is included. But one part that gave me a little hassle was the lock brackets that they put on cylinder 5 and 6 so they don't come loose. Took me 4hrs of work today and 2 bs with my buddy that stopped by.

Also,

IMO, flex pipe is a requirement. I used some to create my stack and will NEVER, only run solid pipe again. Its soooooooo much easier to work with.. And its not like dryer hose. Its pretty damn stiff...Holds its shape just fine..
I don't have an issue with flex pipe. Used it before on my last truck.

I just installed the draconian 2g swap today, Thanks Dave and Frank.
Ran into a couple issues, but worked through them.
The flex hose is going to be a Must as, there is not only a 10" gap, but also the downpipe maintains a slight downward angle, making it near impossible to connect the exhaust without an angled fitting.

I drove around for a couple minutes with only the downpipe, and my wife was plugging her ears. lol

Again big Thanks to Draconian for coming through big time when I was in a bind. Did wish I got a sticker though:stirpot: lol

Glad we could get you fixed up. I'm just suprised we were able to rush one out to you that fast...

I think we are probably going to include some flex in our kit. That would be an easier approach.

i called stainless diesel about the same problem with their downpipe, mine is rubbing in multiple area and they said there is a difference in downpipes for an auto and a manual trans, thinking I got the auto version, downpipe on the lower part starts out with a good bend but then they continued with that angle and the piece I had to add to connect it to made a weird angle in the pipe before it would straighten back out to the rest of the kit
