Over the last couple of months I have added: Laramie Bumper, ATS Flares, Black Rear Bumper, and Blacked-out Tails. I have been going back and forth on whether or not I want to black-out the grille and the bumper but I keep saying no because of the chrome on the wheels. Anyhow, let me know what you guys think...:party018:

Nice looking truck! I would black out the grille, thats way too much crome in one place. I would leave the chrome on the bumper though..
:drool2: One of the nicest trucks I've seen. The new bumper looks awesome. Great work man!
Nice lookin rig. I like the tail lights.
I am pretty sure I would do the grill in black. The chrome in the middle of the bumper will accent the chrome in the wheels.

Rick
I say black out the grill AND the bumper. you've gone this far with all the black... why stop now?
Thanks for the comments...as mentioned, I am torn on the all black.
Paint the grille black and put some billet inserts in it. That will darken it up but still give you a little shine.
Funny that you say that, I was just thinking about getting a laramie grille and painting it black but keeping the chrome inserts or painting mine black and getting the chrome inserts.

Anyone have a laramie grille or the inserts they are willing to get rid of?

Laramie grill is the same. Mine looks exactly like yours! Where did you get your front and rear bumper? Mine has some damage and I need to get new ones. I've been trying to get info on swapping the front to an SRT10 bumper. I want all black, so I'd say do all black! Oh and by the way if you want a chrome grill to blast all the chrome off I have my chrome laramie grill you can use, the chrome has scrapes in it (no cracks) and the chrome is peeling/lifting. Make me an offer, I can take some pics tomorrow of the grill if you want, but I swear it looks just like yours now.

Funny look at your pics your truck looks like my trucks distant black cousin.... my white 05 even has the same down turned exhaust! HAHAAHAH and I also bought black housing headlights, and i have no chrome on mine anymore.

This isn't the best pic, but this is after I installed a black grill on my 07 it will give you an idea what yours will look like if you decide to do a black grill. I want to get rid of the chrome inserts and get some black ones so there is NO chrome and all blacked out.

EDIT: I found a close up of the damaged grill. Like i said make me an offer if you want to use it to mess around with so you dont have any downtime with your truck.

how did I know you were from CA? LOL you need to take the 9,000lbs of concrete out of the bed
I thought the Laramie grilles came with the chrome inserts like the one on your truck? What you have is exactly what I was thinking about going with on the front, and as good as it looks, I am glad I saw it cause I think I may want to go all black now. As far as where I got the stuff, the front bumper I traded someone (my bumper +$100) who was getting repo'd, and the rear is my original bumper with the dent pulled, chrome stripped, and painted.

I think I will strip the chrome and go black on the grille and bumper insert now. I'm sure the wheels will be fine with the little bit of polished/chrome look on them. If I don't like it I could always go back to a chrome grille or something (someone has one on craigslist locally for $100 in "prefect condition").

I knew the day would come where you would say something negative on one of my posts...how did I know this you may ask? Well, its because every post I read of yours is negative.

Do you still have that red and black truck that looks like a stink bug with that 500 lb. bumper/grille guard on the front?
the bumper is only 170lbs...

at least it doesn't look like a dog w/ worms dragging its butt across the rug :p
only the early CR Laramie grills had the chrome inserts... the later trucks only got monochrome grills w/ the sport package... there are sports and laramie sports, but a laramie non-sport got a chrome grill.

a painted grill and black headlights would forgive some of that granny-a55 stance ;)
Only 170 lbs? Well thats even worse. I thought maybe you would have an excuse for the front end being so low. Either way, you like to have your a$$ in the air while I like to have the front in the air.

Are the headlights not black?

Thanks for the info, I didn't know there was such thing as a laramie sport. Thought you had sports and you had laramies, didn't know they mixed them.
Ya the laramie grill looks like yours... chrome surround and inserts. I had to buy a sport grill to get the painted surround, but now I want black inserts. I should have just got a night runner grill, or find some after market inserts.

I dont know why my truck is lower in the rear than the front. I even bought 8 inch atlas leaf springs for my 05 and it still is lower than the front.
yeah, the sport gives you the monochrome and the laramie gives you the nice interior package and on the 06+ trucks a different bumper. laramie sport gives you the best of both worlds :)

I guess I overlooked that you had the black lights... my buddy had his factory chrome bumper painted and put a painted grill on it... looks really nice

FYI, the Dodges have a nose down stance so they don't look like a baby with a full diaper when you put something in the bed...
Actually, every truck I have ever seen come off the lot has the stink bug look to it, not just the dodges. You and I will obviously not ever see eye to eye on this topic, but I prefer the truck to be about an inch higher in the front because even when they are perfectly level they appear to the eye to be stink buggin
I guess growing up around hot rods and trucks that actually work, I prefer a nose down stance... I guess growing up in California and seeing desert trucks, perhaps you prefer the nose-up stance
