My Edge sucks

get a smarty..or just stack the juice with something

How do you know the powerstroke was stock? Was it a buddy or could someone have been BS-ing you?

there's no way, when i first had my edge j/a a stock ford would be 10 trucks behind me in the quarter.something is wrong.

I agree with Mulisha there is probably soemthing else wrong, also have you "hot" unlocked your edge yet? Those stock 6.0 powerstrokes will run really hard stock when they are running right people don't give them enough credit, but your truck should have beat it. My buddy has an '05 with the J/A and I could outrun him with my '03 with just my EZ on 5, we capped his rail and it really woke up his truck, I guess his fuel pressure relief valve had popped and he didnt know it until we capped it.

What Did you gave the Edge set on..Was You tranny slipping at all ????

I've been pretty pleased with my Edge, although there are more powerful options out there. My guess your trans is keeping you from putting all of the power to the ground.

6.0's are pretty fast stock... that is, when they're running.

i hated the edge i had on my truck. but it was faster than a stock powerstroke.

Ya I beat him but not by a whole lot. It was my buddy's truck and it is bone stock. I had it set on 5. Would a torque converter do anything to help and if so what does something like that cost to get thrown in?

Something must be wrong? When I had just my juice w/att my truck ran really well, in fact when it would go into lock up (torque converter stock) it would shake the whole truck because it would slip the stock converter.

A aftermarket tranny-converter would do wonders. After having my truck done, it would be one of the first mods I would do now to a new truck (even a stock one). Give Dave Goerend a call, he is great and you can't beat the service. Heck if ya need, go to Dave's pick up some go fast parts and will throw them in at my shop!

I would say if your looking at doing hte torque converter, you might as well replace the stock flex plate, and do the valve body to help with line pressure and such.

No such tuner exists to increase milleage and power mainly for the reason you just indicated. As soon as you push the skinny pedal down hard to race there went any milleage gains in a black cloud of smoke. Further, if you are running around on 5 of course you won't get good mileage.

I stacked my edge with my superchips programmer. Needless to say my ecm went out. Edge does not do well stacked i hear! You'd be better off selling your edge and moving onto the smarty and possible stack with that.

thats because they both do timing, your lucky you didnt fry you engine.and if you want better gas mileage, keep it on level2 or 3 and dont floor it around corner's and such. drive it like an old caddy and youll gain 2 -3 mpg.

No 2 power adders do well together when they both add timing. :rof

Everybody tells horror stories about Edge products, but why are they still so popular if they're supposedly a p.o.s? There are drawbacks/problems with any add-on to your truck. I have nothing but good stuff to say about my Edge setup and I don't even have the hot unlock.

There is no problem with your Edge. You don't have a trans to push an extra 100 hp. With my built tranny I ran 0 - 60 in 5.5 seconds last night with just the Juice on 5. I turned up the MP-8 and lowered the time to 4.7 seconds. A TC is about $1,300. And you need a VB to go with it so there's another $400. And then a bunch of other stuff too so now your at about $4000 or more installed.

edge sucks get a PPE my PPE turned down does better then a edge turned up. YOu can get the PPE Hot + 2 and get 300 horse power and 470 torque but you'll probably break your trans

no offense, but this is why one must always be careful what they read on here. not that a PPE isn't goona be better for him, there is NO hot for the 06 and up trucks. it is for 05 and earlier trucks. not knockin what you tried to tell him, but you sound like a pitch man that doesn't know what he's trying to sell or isn't paying close enough attention to the man asking the question.
