Just drove from my parents house in NH to my apartment in Maine, is about 120 miles, the computer said i was averaging 20.3 mpg. This seemed almost to good to be true. I haven't had to the chance to hand calculate it yet, waiting for this tank to run out. How accurate are the computers in the truck, the truck is stock, 4 dr, shortbed.

My next question is if this is somewhat accurate how much improvement will i see when i install my intake, exhaust and programmer?

don't trust those over heads bro...they are usually of by 1-2 MPG's. but yeah its not un common to see the 5.9 up there as far MPG's go.

and yes you will see an improvement when you add intake and exhaust. but you will see the biggest difference once you get a chip on it. also brings the beast out of his sleep(stock to monster):thumbsup

Yeah, sorry to disappoint you bud, but the overhead is wrong. The best way to find out your MPG's is to hand calc it. To answer your other question, the intake, exhaust and programmer will definitely help. You should find out what you are getting now, and then after the mods, check it again. If you can keep your foot off of the GO pedal, you should see at least a 1 to 2 MPG increase.:thumbsup
