OK, I just bought a 6" Aussie kit. It says it comes with a 5" thru bed Y pipe. How big of a hole should I cut in the bed? Should it be a snug fit or have plenty of room around it?

Any other tips I may need to know when I install this kit?

Thanks for your advice!!

6 inch, get a hole saw since it cuts nicely. after you cut the hole work from bottom to top but DO NOT tighten anything until final piece is on

How far off the bed does your Y pipe sit?
I'd like to know this too. Mine seem like they sit back a lot farther than everyone else's.

when I made my kit we 4 inch for the inlet. cut a 4.5 inch hole.... scribed it on the bed drilled one hole and used a sabre saw to get through the bed. then a sawzall to get throught the support bracket below. we didn't have to cut it completely just the edge in order to leave it in for... well suport!

but for a stack 'kit' I'd have to agree w/ Brian.... go oval that should get you about 2-3 inches lower!

pics are required now you know that right>?

I'm debating putting them on afterwork tommorrow, about how long do stacks take to install?

If you don't alter the kit any, a couple hours should do it.

Ok I started installing my stacks today but ran out of daylight. One thing I did notice that I have a question about is the stack mounts. They are L brackets with a bolt (that is attached) + nut, I understand how they work but the front lip on my bed is enclosed (boxed) so I cant to the backside to tighten the nuts.

How do I get around this? Do I need to mount them some other way?

get some self tapping screws then would be my suggestion.

Use the side rails..... ?

Better yet, if your anchored to the floor good enough throw them L brackets in the trash.... Run Clean without them

The stacks are about a 1/2 inch away from the sides. If I dont use mounts at the top, I figured they might raddle because they side against the front.

I thought about using self tapping screw, but I dont know how they will hold up over time.
