I've had a few people ask that I post some updates, so I decided to start a separate thread.

We have a 10K Equal-i-zer hitch that is 15 years old. It was looking pretty bad, so I had the hitch, sway bars, and shank blasted and powder coated. I also purchased new hardware. Here are a few pictures.

An XJ would also be significantly less expensive than a new Wrangler.

On a different subject, this concludes the test. It took about four months for the boom to leak down all the way. Now the pin is back in place.

Well Jimmy, I feel the time length is on the weak side, ”About” is way too vague. A detailed spreadsheet indicating times and dates of measurements would be minimal. Now if you were to include temperatures on measurement dates it would be much more beneficial due to the fact we all know how hydraulic fluid viscosity changes when temperatures do. All Ranch Managers out there are waiting for you to solve their dilemmas. Replace seals or add fluid to the tank? Calm down fellas, help is on the way……..😎

Hmm. I thought we were supposed to count things in months now. Am I wrong again?

That is a good point. I think it's generally to be recorded in the least useful manner. Perhaps in this case it should years?

Nope not wrong, simply lacking some details. 😵‍💫

Alright, alright. Next winter I'll set up the laser and record the movement every 1/30th of a month.
With corresponding temperature readings, of course.

I was happy to see Bubba Wallace hit the wall. He's one of my least favorite drivers.

Have you considered moving to England? They have roundabouts all over the place.

As we travel from coast to coast, I'm seeing more roundabouts pop up with new construction. They are nice!

Dry and caked is a far cry from mud and snow. Firewood stocking should happen before mud and snow is an issue. Plus if it's muddy and snowy, I doubt you would even take any vehicle out and coat it with mud. Especially pulling a trailer.

Curious why any truck you currently own, fitted with proper mud tires, wouldn't perform just as well as a wrangler? If you go out and gather firewood and fill the bed, the truck is a better option.

To each their own and you certainly are free to buy anything you want. I just don't understand the reasoning. Not that it matters a lick to me, just curious.

If he's going to measure that in years, he's gonna have to dig a hole and park next to it so it can be a true measurement. Hitting the ground skews all the data.....

In my experience, those roundabouts are far from nice when pulling doubles. Have had to drive completely right over one (including all the pretty little flower planted there), and the second trailer has cheated over more than a few.

Actually, there're not even nice when pulling the toy hauler with the 3500. Have had to hit them just right to keep the trailer tires off the curb...and not put the aluminum wheels on the steer axle against it.

I see a lot of them as well. I usually just hit them as straight as I can unless they have a pronounced curb.

That's cuz they were designed by a prius/tesla driving engineer that has zero clue what it takes to keep the world func....
