A mix of both. For example, it was cheaper to buy 1 ga 30' jumper cables than to buy 60' of cable, and the quick disconnect ones I have will be shortened to fit the application.
You have to watch the cheaper cables, though. Manufacturers will sometimes use aluminum instead of copper.

Yep, fully aware of the copper coated aluminum ones. And the copper jumper cables I'm cutting up were on a major sale. The leftover cable and the clamps I can use for something else at some point.

Lawn mower not wanting to start I the relative cold? I figured your garage was insulated.
The tractor is currently stored at our in-town home for now. I'm unsure where it will be stored after it is moved to the property, or how often it might be parked outside overnight, etc. Nonetheless, I'll use the block heater anytime the temperature is below 30*F. Even with synthetic oil, benefits of the block heater have been documented at 20*F temperatures.

I installed the BatterMINDer EZ Connector on the same side as the block heater.

This is what I'll be using. At 8K it should be enough since the trailer can only hold about 16K. If not, that's what snatch blocks are for.

Have 85 (?) feet of synthetic rope, and 150 feet of Amsteel as an extension if it's needed. Will have to either sand down a regular hawse fairlead or buy an aluminum one.

The extension rope is mostly in case I'll need to pull the trailer (and 3500) back on the road, or at least get the tail end of the trailer up on the road. Again, snatch blocks are our friend.

Didn't realize you had power out at the property. Guess I should have since you have a well. Outside or inside should not make a difference until you have a heated structure to park it in.
I guess I'm glad my tractor nor truck have read these documents as they currently start and operate just fine well below 20f.

I didn't tell any of mine, either. And most of them don't have block heaters anyway.

On the other hand, the lowest temp I've started any of them is probably -15, with -10 being more common.

It's weird not having anything diesel to plug in right now. Even more odd pulling in the driveway and not seeing it parked up at the barn.
What? Sold the Powerstroke?
