hello, im new to your forum. I own a 2014 Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn and have a puzzling question that the dealership cant seem to answer. Since the 2500 and 3500 basically have the same engine, I was wondering can the 2500 cummins be programmed with the same settings as the 3500 for more towing capacity? our thoughts....go:smile2:

Tunes are no different unless it has the Aisin, and you can’t get that unless you get the 3500.... everything else is suspension... maybe even frame related?

suspension and gearing is the difference. tuning is changed on Aisin trucks.

If you don't want to void your warranty, not much you can do. If you no longer have a warranty, but want to get more power and keep your emissions, get emissions compliant tuning. if emissions are annoying and in need of a long term cleaning cycle, and you need tunes to run while you spend several years cleaning your emissions equipment, delete and tune. I recommend Anarchy tuning for your tuning I think they offer emissions compliant tuning @3brorce would know for sure

3500SRW and 2500 have same towing capacity with the same transmission. The 3500drw is actually slightly less with 3.42 gears due to extra weight. It goes up with 3.73 and 4.10 gears and with the Aisin option.

Bottom line you can get some more capacity by regearing as long as you don't go over GVW and GAWR-rear. Dually with 4.10 only gets 21.6k with 68rfe so that gives you an idea.
