doubtful, these turbos are computer controlled.
Boost Alarm

What do you set your alarm on the EDGE? I have not changed mine and it sounds off at 30. What will it hurt to have it set higher?
Why not just wait until I.I. comes out with their "stock" turbo upgrade kit?

It's supposed to produce more boost, while still allowing the driver to access the factory Elec. Exhaust Brake, and speed control sensors.

I think I read in another thread that it was close to being finished?

But, I'd check with Justin @ Industrial Injection.

If anybody, he'd be the guy with the answer.
How is the II turbo gonna make any difference? As long as computer wants to see 24 pounds of boost, we will see 24 pounds. Havin it spike higher wont help none. The stock turbo is capable of more but is not allowed to by the ECM. Maybe they have come up with a boost fooler as well?
Huh? Surely the tuner has access to the boost map. I could be wrong. Wish Bud Kunz would chime in here.

I would have thought so! My truck runs the same boost stock or turned up! That being said it does Peak alot higher with things turned up but then it comes right back down to 24-26.

Yep my experience with VW TDI engines if applicable says the map, stock or tuner; went full on and you saw a spike but in the end the turbo could only sustain 24-26. Your engine can produce more boost under load and the spike goes away as the engine catches up to the load if that makes sense. I could be wrong but I don't think turbo gassers get the spike.

In fact with the little TDI the VNT (VW's VGT) is vacuum actuated so we catch those spikes by putting a "T" splitter that dumps overboost back into the actuater to moderate things.

Of course these VGT's are electronically actuated so you can't do that.
Mine will spike at 40 and maintain 32 when the edge is turned up.

Access to boost map.....yes and I will be looking for it when we get a more stable platform on the PMT.

So we haven't even touched it yet. Awesome!!! Thanks for the post Bud!
Its gonna become a turblow. They can produce more boost but for how long ??
the Edge website states that the map sensor will only read up to 40psi so you may make more biut the highest it will ever show on the moniter is 40 psi. here is a link look on the top of page 39. http://www.edgeproducts.com/product_images/product_variation-user_manual-233.pdf

Plus the edge dose boost fooling just like it dose on the 04.5-07 5.9 and alows more boost becouse only lets the computer see stock boost signal. My brother and brother in law can get 45+ psi on there 07's and hold it with no other mods and it dose not throw an over boost code and defuel becouse the computer only sees the stock peak boost. I dont see why this would work any diff.
I have the edge and i have never seen 40+ boost. I am not sure what your friends are running, but i would like to know the difference.
Has anyone tried a Boost Fooler on the new 6.7 ? are the MAP plugs the same
Send me one and i will try it? LOL

I am not sure if they are the same Let me look.

Edit - Looked and they are not the same connectors. The wiring layout is the same but the 6.7 has a squared plug and the 5.9 is rounded. :(

So all we need to do is make our own wiring adapter to try it out. We just need to get some plugs from someone...Hint Hint...Someone...LOL
Yep, I'm with Ga Mike on this one Cowboy!!!

While you and Shibby are working on the EGR delete, why not go ahead and get some 6.7 harness', adapt the wiring, and try out an '07 5.9 Boost Fooler???

You never know!!! It just might be..."The Next Big Thing!"

And if it does, It would be really easy getting a couple of harness's, and cutting and crimping with butt-connectors, then heat-shrinking.

Hey Cowboy, you and Shibby can produce these next, and sell them reasonably priced!!!

However, would you need any other mods (programmer, MP-8., etc...) to gain power, or would the boost fooler itself fool the ECM and produce more boost from a stock vehicle...which in turn = power???
Well go to the local dealer, open the hood of a leftover 07 5.9, snip off the connectors and give it a try. LOL! I am not sure where to source the plugs. If i could get some i would try it for sure. You would need 2 of each one though.
Nah, just put crimp style but connectors on your stock wires:rof I hear the one's you get at walmart last forever:thumbsup
