Go see Rich at Big Dog Performance, in Douglasdale. Lots of knowledge and he has never steered me wrong. Also, check out his Baja truck. SWEEEEET!:headbang::thumbsup:

Split the difference and stop in Red Deer, Donavan at Armor will help empty your wallet as fast as mine. :lol4: great guy to deal with, and there is always something to do in Red Deer while your truck is being worked on. :party018:

HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA check this out.

Courtesy of Big Dog. Got my valves adjusted there last Friday, woke up to a puddle on Saturday. Because that redhead kid who works there missed it. Plus the gasket was barely even on to begin with. Lost almost 4 litres of Amsoil with less than 500kms on that change. Whatever it's your call. Go see Doyle at Fuel Automotive in Strathmore. I normally go there, I needed a valve adjustment really bad and couldn't get a ride back to town which is why I went to BD... big mistake. Just to be fair, it wasn't Richard who did my truck. But still...

There's also the guys at ProMax Performance on 51 Ave. in Edmonton. From touring the premises they mostly seem to build the typical hotrods, but they are also dealers for the diesel performance parts, like BD Power, ATS etc. Very nice guys and knowledgeable - they take the time to chat, find information, explain stuff, show off whatever they are building in the back....obviously passionate about what they do.

The other place I got stuff at is JP's Power centre in Edmonton. They are good for gauges and exhausts etc, but you have to go in there knowing what you want. They only install electronics.

Everyone knows what my comments would be. However, I would say if in Calgary try DPS / Kevin or Unlimited Performance / Andy he is starting to carry more and more. I would also have to agree with checking out Armor / Donovan in Red Deer.

Those retards did my exhaust, then they told me i'd have to wait 3 weeks to get in to fix an exhaust leak. They should stick to tweaking ricers. Horrible service. Absolutely horrible. Once they have your money, the don't give a s hit. That Travis kid should be working at a way more reputable shop, he was the only one there that showed genuine interest and caring. Andy's a clown big time in my opinion, and he's lucky he has a guy like Travis if you ask me....

2500Calgary,

I'm sorry you are having a bad week, in addition to the valve cover gasket leak on your truck, but your post could have been better.

Andy Shue & Unlimited Performance have been around for a long time.
No, they are not probably not perfect but there is a reason that they have been around for quite a while.
Andy & his wife are good honest hard working people. They are not deserving of your personal attack.

There is no such thing as a perfect shop but there is such a thing as criticizing in a much more constructive way.
I assure you no one is personally out to get you.
I'm sure you are a good guy, but there is no need to personally insult people in business providing a service.

In my experience, Big Dog Performance & Richard Thomas have been excellent.
They have also been around for quite awhile which is indicative of the service they provide.
I'm sorry they made a mistake on your truck, but no need to get so angy, negative & personal.

Positive always my Friend.. Things always have a way of working out fine...

It's like I got "schmuck" written on my forehead. Or sucker crosshairs and a laser sight on me at all times. Sure, many shops have been around for a while, and part of the reason is, some people don't know better, don't educate themselves with the help of forums, and some don't stand up for themselves.

I'm at the point where I do take a lot personally, and very little gives me reason to be any other way. I'm scarred, that's all I can say. Seems every time I let my guard down, I get f***** over.

I'm not even kidding. I'd rather be this way than get f**** over everywhere I go. If I had a bad experience somewhere, I will share it with the world because I know how belittled I felt by those situations and if I can help somebody avoid it I will. That being said,

And I don't care if he reads this, if he was caring I would have shared that too and recommended his shop.

Richard was a nice guy, seemed like he knew his stuff, but that Darrian guy in his shop wasn't thorough and nobody even followed up with me.

Oh come on... just trying to save some fellow Cummins people some headaches that's all!
I don't believe the comment was directed at you. As you said, there is a productive way to voice your complaints. As you, I think we get the responses we solicit in life.

I agree fully Joe, everyone has had a bad experience some where. That being said means that you are now biased. However, Joe may get along with the folk there and has never been short changed, so that being said shows that your opinions differ. That does not mean that either company is good or bad. This reminds me of a conversation I had the other night.

We are all individuals, we all look at things differently, we all react differently. Joe may be of similar mind to Richard therefore they get along. I may walk up to Richard and think something totally different. I get along great with Andy and have for the 10+ years I have known him, you think differently as you are an individual with different likes/dislikes. Someone asked an opinion and we the forum members were expressing the different shops we know of, not who is good or bad just what is out there for that member to decide for themselves who or what fits in with what they like.

I have had my share of bad experiences including ones with my favorite shop but I stay positive and persistant and we both learn from it.

Listen or no, I sympathize with your problems at this time and see you have had a string of bad luck. Things can and will get better but don't burn any bridges along the way.
