Anyone comment of fuel economy pulling enclosed trailers?

I have a 28' enclosed and when loaded it weighs in at approx 7500 lbs.

Anyone pulling similar trailer/weight and what are you seeing for mileage? :confused013:

mine weighs about 9000 loaded and i get about 9 mpg towing, and i live up in nor cal so its really hilly.

i pulled my girls 4runner on a trailer this past weekend and it weights about 7,000lbs trailer and car, and i got 16. not bad but i do not have a chip or anything.

2007 2500 6.7 auto slt quad cab heavy duty 4x4 sb pull 24' x 8.5 enclosed with approx 9k total weight from CT to NV and back, got 12.81 mpg stock on way to NV but only 10 mpg on way back with Max energy on stage one. Better throttle response and pwr but not so good mileage. Could be diff in atltitude bc I 40 on way to NV and I 70 on way back thru Denver and Rocky MTs. Will try stage two as recommended by someone with similar set up on way to NV this coming Oct.

3 weeks ago I made a run from western Colorado to Boise. 25' homemade enclosed approx 6K empty and I was about 12K loaded on the way back. 11.5mpg on the way to ID and 10.2mpg on the way back. I ran the interstate the whole way running right at 75mph both ways.

Hauling my tractor which is about 12k I get 9-10mpg.
With 4k on the trailer I get 14 mpg.
Granted its hilly around here.

I have a 29' travel trailer, when loaded I'm pulling about 8k. I am usually about 10-11 mpg. 70-75 mph. The wind makes a big difference. I've been as low at 8ish... Lots of hills too.

Towing Mileage

I pull a 30 ft Tagalong WideBody camper, Weighing 12000 lb and 11 ft tall and at 70 to 75 mph I get 11 MPG. My truck has DRW and finally about 21 K miles.

7K fifth wheel 13-14 mpg with deletes and 10-11 without deletes. Deletes will add about 30% - 40% mpg over stock plus far less issues.

Looking at my cat scale sheet now,
Steer Axle 5100 lbs
Drive Axle 7160 lbs
Trailer Axle 8820 lbs
Gross weight is 21,080 lbs.
I have logged 27,000 miles with this setup and never get better than 11.3, driving into wind and tracking hills will drop into the 8's. This is traveling from West Tn to Massachusets every week. 36' enclosed triple axle car hauler.
