I know what you mean. My father in law was ready to move out there for a few years to do all of the electrical in a new casino and the convention center expansion. They pulled the plug on the casino and cut the price of the expansion to a point were he told them to get lost.Ironwork has dried up in vegas (and the construction industry in general) had some good years they're but those days are done and not coming back anytime soon for vegas.
I some times wish i was back home in the U.P.Same here....moved here to Michigan from Vegas ( Henderson actualy ) a couple years ago. I was in the construction inspection biz. It was great until the housing market fell out...then it all just stopped.
Hey Jay.... I'm on the automated people mover (tram) project at CC. The one from Bellagio to Monte Carlo. We're closing the job out right now, and have nothing else coming up...Hey....I was an inspector on City Center for a while when it first started up. I worked for CTE Terracon while I was in Henderson. Small world. Then I moved on to the pedestrian bridges over the strip and Blue Green condos also...after the residential too a total dump.

Now that City Center is complete there's nothing going on.... It's sad to see unfinished buildings, and cranes that haven't moved for months....
