I like my mega cab. I can seat 275 lb men in the back seat and they have room.

Honestly nobody can make that call for you. It depends on your priorities.

I love my megacab. The space inside is awsome. But I often wish I had a long bed as well. Or you could consider a mega long bed conversion (it's just more $$$ and parking issues).

If you're going to be pulling a 5th wheel or gooseneck that might effect your decision.

I haul a lot of mulch and soil. With the short bed as much as I can reasonably carry goes to the top of the cab...with a long bed it would overflow a lot less but probably wouldn't carry any more weight anyway.

The mega cab is awesome! For long trips, I have 3 kids (2 in car seats), a dog, a cat, and a bunch other "stuff" in the back and the wife can still recline her seat.

For a long bed conversion, the frame must be lengthened 20", add a cross member. You have to replace/lengthen the brake and fuel lines and lengthened the driveline 20". After that you get ahold of a long bed and viola!, you got yourself a long bed mega cab.

I had a buddy that did it not too long ago, but he had a shop do it. It cost him just under $6k. If you have a TIG or decent stick welder, you could go to a salvage yard and pick up a section of frame (or fab it from scratch) and a long bed. Throw in new brake/fuel lines and a spool or two or wire and you could probably git'r'dun for $1-2k.

Haha:hehe: :agree2:Completely! I think he did it for the "wow" factor of having a 22.5ft long truck. Hey, it was his money and not mine!

Been toying around with this idea for awhile now.
Just need to get the time.

If you have small kids in car seats. The mega cab back seats recline. Now your kids seats can lean back and sleep good(for the whole trip) and not fall asleep with the head rolling all over the place. That wake's mine up and the here comes the " are we there yet".

I Love my Mega, the only way I will have a QC is if I have a Mega too. The back seat folds down and you can put an air mattress back their too for the kids. the bed being to short is not an issue with me if it won't fit in the bed , I got an trailer it will fit on. At one time I did have the best of both worlds,. I had an long bed dually and my mega too. sold the long bed for a 2010 Challenger R\T classic for my wife.
