I was wondering if personal experiences went along with what TST states in there web site.

TST recommends NOT exceeding::peelout
230 hp and 605 lb-ft on '94/'95 Ram automatics
250 hp and 635 lb-ft on '96/'98 Ram automatics
270 hp and 675 lb-ft on '94/'95 manuals
280 hp and 685 lb-ft on '96/'98 manuals

I drive a 97 2500 sport so the last one is what I am really interested in.

Well, thats a pretty good guideline to follow, your results may vary.
It really depends mostly on the driver. Someone who leaves every stoplight as if he's John Force in the finals, will lunch his trans/clutch much sooner than someone who eases away from the stop.

It seems like stock is just about the limit for these trucks to me, possible able to support 1 mod.

i have a 24v with the juice with attutude and i leave like john force all the time on leve 5 and have been doing this for a while now and no problems its just whnever you try to bog it in overdrive is when you will smoke the clutches
