Just a quick pipe dream question. What is the highest you guys have seen a 12 valve do on the dyno? What HP range is possible with these motors? I went to the track last night and got all fired up. My pipe dream is to take my old 12 valve and run with the fast gassers. Don't know if this is possible but I want to try. Best diesel time there was I think mid 13's, pretty good for a daily driver.:thumbsup Alot of those gassers were in the 11-12 range. Any thoughts?

and I realize a 2wd isn't the best rig for dragging..... or anything else for that matter..... shoulda got that 4wd when I bought this truck 4 yrs ago!!!:(

10-4 on the wallet size. Unfortunately my wallet is pretty small so it'll have to remain a pipe dream for now. I do have a plate coming, and in the next year hope to push 400hp (will build the trans first, of course). 400 should be very doable with full trans, plate, turbo, injectors, and exhause, right?

I also wish I had the cash to build a big truck, not a big pickup but a semi. I have an 02 KW t800 with a 500hp Cummins ISX (just under 15 liter) that I'm not running right now. I know there are guys out there that can build up big truck motors strictly for speed, but that's talking a lot of cash!!:$::$: Oh well, sometimes all a trucker can do is dream!:beer

10-4, that's priority on the list along with gauges. I found a guy around here that can build a tranny for cheap. he works at a dodge dealership and does this on the side along with dragging gassers. My concern is that he is too used to gassers that he won't build a trans for the tourque of a diesel. Oh well, I guess I'll find out!

I think he's running big block cars that run in the 10's so he's not just building trans for a little ricer. My friend that recommended him had him rebuild the trans on his teenagers '04 dodge cummins with a superchips tuner and they are very happy with it.

Sled pullers run twelve valve close to an estimated 2000hp with water (instead of an intercooler) and no N2O, but they won't tell anyone there setup or actual numbers :(
Don't take propane seriously as a power adder

Alcohol 12 valves still have the record, but Diesels are catching up...

What can you do for serious power?

Starting from the bottom... Put on a girdle. Stud the mains. Stud the rods. Balance the crank. Blue print and balance rods. Ceramic coat the pistons. Flycut the pistons. Replace all your freeze plugs with billet ones. Replace your water pump with an electric one. Aftermarket cam. Stronger pushrods. Stronger valve springs. Oversize valves in a head with tons of porting. Titanium retainers, hardened keepers. Head studs, fireringed headgasket. Custom injectors. Built P-pump (or, if you're going for the real competitive numbers, something like a $igma). Fluid dampener. Big honkin' turbos.

Oh, and somewhere along the line you're gonna want to fix that KDP. :lol3:

should have started with a Cat 625hp.....or the Cummins ISX 600 much easier to make faster. my 625 is a w900L (day cab) and she moves bob tailin

Including labor? A lot :rof without labor the parts are expensive but not ridiculous :$: Talking with companies like Schied, Haisley, or PDR would be able to get you a price quote. Garrett at Pure Diesel Power sells a lot of the stuff listed is your curious, you could go to his site and get an idea Click Here

A ton. Depending on who does what I would guess anywhere from 30,000 to 75,000 bucks no problem. I know it is not a 12v but it took PDI about $35,000 in engine work alone to get their common rail to 1000rwhp.

Highest 12v I have ever heard on fuel was like high 1100 low 1200rwhp, Maddog and his Fummins

There are some serious pulling trucks in the 1750-2000hp range.

And I think that the PDI truck was built somewhat in house too :$: but like they said it was a lot of custom first time stuff

actually my 475 is upratable to 600, but I have drivers in these trucks so I figured it wasn't a good idea.... we have enough problems with the DOT with my trucks going 80.. don't need them goin 90 at 80,000 plus lbs :peelout!!! I'll stick with my little 12 valve for now.
