what bar is the map sensor... ie 3 bar, 5 bar, 7 bar

if i understand your question the map sensor is a transducer that measures pressure by varying resistance in relation to pressure this is sent to the ecm to control various functions you can tap it and get a reading of manifold pressure in your preference of psi bar or kp

i use to have an srt 4... the stock map sensor was a 2 bar sensors the stage 2 and stage 3 were a 3 bar map sensor.....


if i was to get a progressive controller for water meth injectoion i need to know how many bar map sensor the cummins map sensor is


ie..... on a 2 bar sensor 18 psi is 4.88 volts
where are on a 3 bar sensor 18 psi is 3.55

It can read up to 4 bar or 44psi.....

Not sure about the Cummins motors, but on gasoline motors Map sensors measure absolute pressure. A 1 bar sensor can read full vacuum to atmospheric pressure (0psi, 1 bar absolute psi), 2 bar can go full vacuum to 14.7 psi (1bar, 2 bar absolute psi), 3 bar up to 29.4 psi, etc...

1 bar=14.7psi=0psi gauge
2 bar=29.4psi=14.7psi gauge
3 bar= 44.1psi=29.4psi gauge
4 bar=58.8psi=44.1psi gauge
