:lol3: Mine is the same way. I think it is so stupid how nothing on these trucks are greasabe. You can grease the ball joints, ujoints or anything like that. And everyone complains that the ball joints dont last in these truck, no @%$# they dont cause they arent greasable. It actually pisses me off

Same here, no zerts. I'm thinking of getting the warn hub unlocker to eliminate unnecessary ware and tare.

It's suppose to be a zerk for a needle grease gun. I have the same sticker under the hood but I have not found the zerk yet. Others have even posted pictures of it but I can't find it. May have to take it in to the dealer and see if it is there.

Look for little caps that look like you could unscrew them and screw in zerks. I found some in the front of my truck, and had to screw in zerks and grease, then take the zerks back out and put on the caps because of clearance issues. PITA, but easier and cheaper than putting in new parts. Good thought on the zerks for needle guns. I'll need to pick some up before my next oil change.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought was loosing it.

Same with my 05!!! Great information and I just so happen to have a needle greasing attachment. I'll be under the truck with flashlight and magnifying glass this weekend. You would think that the manual could have given more information as to what exactly you needed to look for. Oh, thats right, they want you to pay a dealer to do the job or buy new joints and everything else that blows.:butt:

That was baffling me too. My mechanic knew nothing about it.

So today I jacked up a wheel, and crawled around under there, and after looking for a time, I realized there was a bunch of grime and stuff in the way, and being a girl I thought what pointy but not too sharp thing could I use to clean out the gunk?? Oh yeah, a bamboo skewer did the trick - BBQ wonder and zerk finder. :lol3: Better remember to throw it out now. But I finally found that friggin zerk. It is literally right behind the first U-joint.

Don't give up guys, I am a total noobie and girl and I found it:T:, !

The only thing is that I'm not sure I actually got any grease in there, just seemed to pump around the side and I didn't want to jam down too hard with the needle.

It's there. It's one of those needle fittings. This is another thread that explains it a little better with pics.

This one is actually better:

Actually, on MY 06 there are NONE. I got those photos from your link, went to my mechanic and we BOTH got under the truck rotated the u joint and there are NO zerks of any kind. OR holes or anything that could be lubed. He said sometimes the truck manufactures use different companys driveshafts which vary....

I don't doubt it. My question is why does this ujoint need to be greased while all the others don't apparently need it. What is the difference? If anyone knows, please share your knowledge.

AMSOIL Spray Grease is one thing that a number of guys and dealerships use on these. Just another option that might help you out.

Chuck.... I don't mean to sound dumb but how would that get in there when you have to push past a check ball? Just curious...

Dad gum dealer didn't believe me when I told them to remember to grease mine. They said it wasn't greasable. I showed them the sticker and they maintained that it wasn't greasable. I haven't had my truck back at a dealer since.

Not sure, luckyhat12, but all I know is that many dealerships and shops are using that product in that appliation. If that is right or wrong, I couldn't tell ya. But it seems to work. :) I didn't say it was the perfect solution, but another option that seems to work for many around this area.

Yup, I heard this before too, in fact somewhere in this forum, there's a person that stated their dealership used the spray lube in a can with a straw to lube it.

Chuck...i tried it tonight with that amsoil spray lube and i'm not sure i got any in there....doesn't seem to be enough pressure in the can to push that valve and i'm not sure i want to break that straw trying to get it in there. I know there's an answer somewhere, just a matter of time.

Hell, it took me 3 tries tonight before i finally found it and it's nice and shiny now, but that doesn't do any good on the outside.

:lol3:

If i figure something out, i'll let you know.
