Lubricheck oil analysis product

I am becoming more interested in this product after reading some about it. I know some members likely own one as it has been out now for a couple years. I am interested in getting feeback and current opinions on how the analysis check has compared to results of traditional oil analysis providers. If you own one and especially if you have had a sample analyzed by both methods, I would really like to hear how the results have compared.

I have one I use all the time. It doesn't really do oil analysis, just tells you when your oil needs to be changed. None of the oil I've sent in for analysis has said it needed to be changed but neither did the Lubicheck device. On a 2 cylinder gas mower I kept checking with the Lubricheck, didn't say it needed changing till 15 hours past it's normal 100 hour interval. Handy device for engines that don't have a odo or hour meter. I trust it.
Here's a thread I started about it> http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/94-98-powertrain/563139-lubricheck.html?highlight=lubricheck

Thanks. Our 91 W250 only got driven about 2,900 miles this year. That will probably be its pattern for the next couple years. I also don't like the logic of just changing oil once a year for lack of better oil condition info. I just finished reading about the science behind the device. If any of the oil condition metrics exceed acceptable levels it seems to then put you towards the negative end of the weighted spectrum. Essentially, if your oil gets labeled as "change" then one of its many metrics exceeded a threshold. Just don't know which one (as in the case of traditional oil analysis). Seems like the science behind it makes sense. It is interesting that the capacitive sensor can determine the dialectric properties of ageing oil accounting for variables such as acidity and soot load.
The link Bill provided convinced me to buy one. Mine was around the 1,500th one sold. I bought one for 2 reasons. 1 It makes sense. If it did that well compared to oil analysis it is good enough for me. 2 You never know if this will cease production and be a commercial (not technological) failure. By buying one now I know I will have one in the future.
Is purchasing direct through Lubricheck the best and/or only option? Total price would be $48, of which $5 is shipping.

Looking at the website, it appears they changed the product some. Looks like the new ones made after 7/13 no longer have a switch for gas or diesel oil. The new ones have a switch for either standard or synthetic oil. However, the website states that the current tester works for diesel or gas engine oil so they must have figured a way to auto detect for the motor oil type?
That was the only option I saw for purchase.

There is a switch on there that says gas or diesel. Flip to the correct setting. That picture is on their website. The first picture you see however must be of a prototype that said synthetic or standard oil instead. I bought mine at least a year ago. Perhaps it changed???

I just sent an email to lubricheck for clarification on that. I will let you know what I find out.
Ok guys, the current product will test both mineral oil and synthetic, both diesel and gas.
Here is their response:

Our initial design, prior to our production start one year ago, had a
> switch to select between synthetic and standard oil. However, before
> we went into production we realized that there was virtually no
> difference between the readings of synthetic and standard mineral
> based oils. Consequently, we changed the switch to select between Gas

> I hope you decide to give us a try! We have a one year warranty, and

This thing looks really cool. Next $50 I can spend I'm getting one. It'll pay for it the first time I don't need to do an oil change on my truck, and allow me to re-use some oil in my good cars (still not the Cummins though) with confidence.
