Hi fellas, need some advice.

I purchased my 16 2500HD 4x4 a few months ago and it replaced my very tired 2001.5 2500 Cummins 2WD. I use my pickup largely for work and I use the bed for cargo a lot. It's taken some getting used to this new 4x4 since the truck is significantly taller than my old truck and it makes loading my work tools and equipment really difficult and frustrating. Long story short has anyone tried lowering the rear of their 4x4 2500HD a couple of inches? The truck sits tall in the back from the factory and most people level their trucks by raising the front, but I need to make access easier and want to lower the back, I know Ram has many different rear springs across their line of pickups, just wondering if anyone has tried this and how.

Thanks!

You can reverse level it. Which involves removing the overload leaf and or moving/removing bottom spacer

How about replacing the coils with air springs? That way you could easily dump the pressure when accessing the bed, and still have good suspension travel when driving.

Have you thought about adding a leveling kit to the front? I will in turn lower the back... to test it you can easily lay some wood on the ground (2 1/2") and then drive your front tires up onto it and see if it lowers it enough for you.... you can get a kit for about $100 and then get an alignment $100-$150....This is what I did and it worked perfectly
