have you had any problems with yours? it has 76000 miles it just sounds like a rubber noise like a warped something because of the noise change while driving. I did wash my truck wed and it sat for two days then started making the noise so maybe theres soap or i washed off some grease?

My trans just took a dump today at 18k mi. After a fluid change (not flush).

I had that exact same thing a week ago. After about ten miles it would start sqeaking and it turned out to be a knuckle. Every single dodge my family has owned we've had at least one knuckle go out.

hey guys thanks for the help how much did it cost to replace the knuckle...do yall ever have an issue when you put the truck in reverse it starts to go then pops out of gear and you have to put it back in?

i have had that happen 2 times.....ive found that i was in a hurry and the selector didn't get all the way into the detent and it came out. At least thats what my problem was.

What/where's the knuckle? Noticed the same noise on mine tonight. Took a ride on a creeper underneath while my wife idled up the driveway (yeah, I trust her and it's coming from where the driveshaft exits the transmission. The rubber boot is dry rotting and squeeking at low rpms........ Is this a failed seal and what does it take to replace?

That boot should just be a dust cover, unless its throwing oil all over your under side then I wouldn't worry, take a dab of grease and swipe it around in there if you can.

"Jumps out of Reverse" is in fact an issue we had on some vehicles in 2007 MY. I will post a separate thread on this subject in case others are interested (and for more visibility).

Thanks all for the help, it was the rear U-Joint, got underneath again and realized it was coming from the rear. Now that I have replaced both U-joints (single shaft) I'm parenoid I have a small vibraion from about 50-70 mph. It could very well be from my tires (toyo mt) and there from the git go but I have the "just did my own work jitters" and wonder if I didn't get it back together just right. My marks lined up on the front and rear. Someone asked in another post about where/how to have your driveshaft's balance checked but it never got answered. Anyone know how to check the balance or who can, thanks.

If it is throwing oil should I just replace the boot, output seal or overhaul? Only at 110k.
