I think something w/ the injection pump. Used to make 24lbs of boost now only 14. Replaced filter but no help. The pump got kind of noisey like a cricket noise for a while and then it went quiet and lost power. Any ideas?

It is a 94 w/ mechanical injection. 4GSK and no plate.

Check the afc and make sure there is no hole in the diaphram and it is still coneected to the intake manifold.
Sometimes the smallest things can cause the biggest headaches.

I would check fuel pressure. If you haven't cleaned prefilter lately, that may help also. Here are some good instructions on checking fuel pressure.

Once you verify you have proper fuel pressure at all times, then you can start looking at injection pump.

Look for a boost leak as well.

Found the problem. Cracked boost referance to afc. Replaced hose and the power is back. Still makes the cricket noise. Any idea what the noise could be?
