well do do that quite yest, you might get lucky like i did, i just pulled the power stering pump out of the cover and it fell right out. but besure to replace the seal for it, i didnt and now it leaks.
Front cover isn't too bad. I broke my timing pin off of my 92 while doing an overhead and that's how I got it out. Just be sure to replace the crank seal. My luck if I tried the PS pump, it would have fallen into the oilpan for sure!
Best of luck to you
Once you do locate the key secure it next time with super glue, I read it works quite well in one of Mopar1973Man's tech articles.
Another trick I learned from the Youtube video to secure the woodruff key, is prior to installation, take it out, lay it on it's side, using a center punch and hammer, strike it a couple of places on each side to raise up some material. Then gently tap it into the machined keyway slot, with the arrow pointing towards the pump. This gives it a snug press fit. It stayed in place for me last week. I didn't have access to any super glue at the time. Good luck!

Excellent post. You even used the proper terminology! I read the title of this thread and I was like, what? Lost the "keyway"?
