So I had em do a transmission service. I was wondering around the lot and I heard a Dodge take off like a bat out of heck. Look over and see it's my truck. I wouldn't have worried about it but when he got on it, he let off the throttle right now. Heard thats really hard on injectors, especially w/ a chip or programmer. So I walk back down to the shop and have the service manager give a message. I say "the only person that hot rods the truck is me. I don't give a fudge who he thinks he is." I looked over when he delivered the message and he glared at me. His name is Jeff Houston a 20 year experienced tech. Works at Lithia Dodge in Billings, MT.

Doing an MIT. If I knew he was going to do it, I would've rigged it to where something was going to break.

We dropped our Jetta off at Lithia VW in Thornton, CO. They had it for only an hour then called saying there was in incident.

We showed up and found they had pulled in to close (so they claim) to a pole and smashed the entire rear quarter of the drivers side. Car had less than 5k on it and now Carfax shows a claim on it. Must be a Lithia thing

I have had some bad experances with that a$$ I wont let him work on my truck any more!! Jeff Houston should not be a tech!!! I have had good luck with Bob Schwarts and thats the only one that I will let touch my truck down there.

If it requires them to use a Star Scan, I schedule an appointment.

OK, I've read all the posts and here's the deal. RESPECT for others property is job#1. As far as letting to engine redline for 2 minutes......great, so do diesel generators, no biggie. But putting all that stress on the engine and drivetrain by romping on it and letting off like was described is a little overboard. Now, this tech in the story seemed a little unprofessional, but that's just my take on it. Now I wouldn't call what was said slander by any means, it's simply an opinion and everyone is entitled including you cumminskiller although I question your motives of being on here. One post in particular was awefully rude and uncalled for. I'll have you know there are trucks on here that ARE faster than a Viper (which I bet is faster than yours and mine) Defending your friend is noble but if you or I weren't there we have nothing to say now do we? It's all heresay. Now, let's just all go our separate ways and have some fun!:beer

I haven't dealt with Lithia Dodge, but i did deal with Lithia Volkswagen on my wife's old car. Needless to say i can account for many a bad experience with the Lithia staff. Hence the reason why we got rid of the piece of crap and took our business elsewhere. Quite frankly whether anyone thinks the truck is a "hot rod" or not the fact of the matter is, it is an expensive vehicle that doesn't happen to be theirs. Just by them disrespecting a vehicle in for service clearly says to stay clear of them. If they don't have the ethics to respect your vehicle then what says they will complete the repairs with quality service. Personally i think bobcat67 is doing everyone a favor by sharing his bad experience.

I had a similar situation when I went to get my tires put on, except the mech knew I was watching. I walked right out into the shop as he pulled it onto the lift and told him I'd appreciate if he didn't drive MY truck like that. Its not like dips talking about how I thought its a pure badass race vehicle and what not, its just the principle that it was my vehicle and not his.

I've had nothing but trouble with Lithia dealerships. Idiotic salesmen(I know those can and most often are found at every dealer) who I know more then they do, finace managers who out and out lie, and rediculous pricing. I avoid them at all costs.

I do know the diesel mechanic at what used to be Lithia Dodge of Sioux Falls. Virgil, real nice guy and he knows his ... but thats the only person I've been happy with at a Lithia.
