This happened a few days ago, just havent had a chance to tell you guys.

So I took my truck back to the tranny shop that did my work and one of the employees took it for a test drive. I told hime to get on it and really test it. Well he did, he got pulled over speeding. Then the shop gets a call and comes outside and tells me that the cops are takeing my truck. I go to the site where the guy got pulled over, the cop tells me that im in a bad situation because of this guy. The guy had over 1000 dollars in fines that was not payed. My truck gets impounded because he gets pulled over. Some new law called the Scoff law or something. Meaning that if someone that owes over 1000 dollars in fines drives your truck and gets pulled over, say good buy to yyour truck for a coulple of days.

so needless to say, i needed my truck back imediately because it was shipping out the next day, the guy payed about 1800 dollars to get it out the same day, and i spent over 3 hours down at city hall to get paper work squared away.

It sucked

yeah i know it sounded choppy, but yes i have been :beer:beer:beer:beer:beer tonight, so i am sorry for that
I've heard of stupid things happening, like someone barrows your car and gets caught buying/selling drugs and the car gets impounded, but if the guy is in your truck on company time doing a test drive, they can take him but they shouldn't take your truck. The cop should have called the shop to have the truck picked up and the driver could have been jailed on the outstanding warrants. Not good practice to impound a customers car. What I think you failed to see was that the shop didn't conduct a background check on its employees and has this kind of person working on your truck. If the tech isn't responsible enough to pay outstanding fines, what kind of work ethic does he have and what kind of work is he doing on your truck.... I'd find another shop... QUICK!

+1 to everything
The truck has already shipped out, but the work done to it was good. The employee that test drove my truck has already been delt with by the shop owner.

What I dont understand is how can they take MY truck when a business is on a test drive with it, i can understand if i let him borrow it, but it was a test drive. They should have just taken him to jail until the fines where paid and let me have the truck back.

And a little background on the test driver, he refinanced his house to pay off everything that he owed but for some reason they didnt pay everything and he still had some left over. he was not notified of any of it. so he is taking the issue up with his refinance company.
it was a test drive
You drive and he sits in the passenger seat..you test...lol
wow man that really sucks, glad to hear u got it back in time though
