If the 6.25 pulley was spinning 2000rpm, the 5.25 is going 2381. I would wager the weight loss will go unnoticed from the extra work being done. But if you need the speed it's a win win.
yea, I needed a 6 rib with a shoulder since I shaved two ribs off mine to make it a six rib, I lost the shoulder on one side. Maybe it will boost the steering and brakes as well?

Bought a 2012 pump with no pulley and ordered up a Beans pulley for this pump. Not expecting any change in throttle response with this since the pump that is coming off is worn and probably does not provide a whole lot of drag. 435k on this pump, I can say I got my moneys worth out of it.

You'll like that new pump for the improved steering and braking! I still need to swap out mine for the latest remote resi pump.(y)

Installed...

New Pulley, Bean Machine = 1.3#

Installed on new pump

Mounting the pulley flush to the shaft

Fitted in the truck using the OEM hose from the old pump, not the banjo style (belt not tensioned). I did not catch that this was the wrong pump (non-banjo) before the install.

That's a pretty significant drop in weight almost a full lb! I still nee to try my 6 rib hellcat pulley that is only 8 oz.

Yeah I cant say that I feel that change in throttle response, but I hear it. Timing rattle now under certain conditions whereas before the install I had none. So I get to tweek the tune next...

The new pulley for the 08+ pumps is lighter than the original you had. Weighs about 1.5lbs.

For the massive difference in price, guess the question is would .2lbs be noticeable. Specially when the newer 12+ pumps come with the new pulley already installed.

I have a new remote resi pump that pulley weighs 1.135 oz, so almost 2 lb. I just weighed it this morning.

Hm unless the dorman is lighter I find it hard to believe. I weighed my dorman off my 08 style pump and it was a hair over 1.5lbs.

my pump did not come with a pulley...

Also, the one I installed was made in USA vs China. Happy to support US businesses.
