light by manual shifter?

i hate not being able to see down by my shifter. not the shift pattern but down by the console. i have been thinking of putting one of those simple 8" strips of led lights.

just kind of wondering where is the best or simplest place to get power. and i only want the light to come on when i turn the head lights on.

i haven't dug into any of the wiring yet, so just wondering if anyone else has done this. i am going to replace my blower motor here pretty soon and figure when i am in there i might as well do the light upgrade at the same time.
