I was driving down the road and came across a 4th gen with a light bar installed perfectly inside the stock bumper between the tow hooks. I didn't realize that was possible but it looked great. Anyone got photos and size measurements, along with what brand they end up getting? I've been wanting to do this for years I just wanted to keep the stock look so I've been hold off. Also if you did run the light bar, has anyone run the lights to be turned on by the fog light switch below the light nob? I like everything as close to oem as I can get.

Better to run so they come on with high beams. Simple to do with a relay and makes it less likely you will blind oncoming drivers.

Here is the original thread on putting the light bar in the bumper. However that bar is no longer available. I have a 30" straight in mine that fits perfect but the one I have is no longer available either. So far we have not found a replacement 30" curved that fits perfectly in that space. You can certainly fit a 20" but it doesn't fill the gap completely.

Just be aware, when searching for a light bar that 99.99% of the ones that say 30" are actually 32"+ and will not fit. Good luck.

Vision X 20" light bar and Vision X mount. Very $$$ but the light output is ridiculous. I travel over two mountain passes with lots of deer and elk, so I figured the extra light was worth the expense. It is way to bright to ever use in traffic, but I'm on the road at 0400 so there is not a lot of other vehicles out at that time.

I dumped the factory hooks. They bend or misalign the bumper if you apply any load other then exactly 90. I used a curved LED light, the curve matches the curve of the bumper.

I have a front receiver used to park large trailers. I mounted a D-Ring there as a replacement to the factory hooks. ( I just installed the D-ring in this picture, its kinda too big for my likings. Had a smaller normal one before.)

I just put a 42" light bar in my tradesman withOUT tow hooks. Bolted up with just a little tweaking to the brackets. Works like a champ. We will see how good the quality is on the light bar.

Does that bar come with a harness or did you purchase was separately, how was wiring it up? I have the brackets that measure 42,5" between the brackets, but no bar. Do you have the grid heater plug, can you still access it with the light bar there?

It doesn't come with a harness. I got one from Amazon, less then $15. And I dont have the plug but there is a little space on the ends that I would think is enough for your plug.
