I've got a 2007 2500 diesel 2wd. Looks like I have aluminum 17's. 265-70-17 tires.
I needed tires to get me through the winter. I found a set of 2014's with decent tires on them cheap. Brought them home and the 275-70-18 is noticeably bigger. Any issues with clearance with these tires? The front sitting lower then the rear on the 2wd seems like it might be tight?

I did all the reading and researching I could before getting these wheels and tires. Seems the offsets and specs are all the same or very close between the wheels. But the 2014's are steel wheels and the 2007 are aluminum. As such, my studs are longer and with the steel 18's, the hub caps don't completely seat.

I was also going to get new bilsteins or put some spring blocks in the front to help level it. But then I'm reading some people have ball joint issues after lifting it up? Any opinions? It's 2wd, so I'm not looking to lift the whole truck. Just level the ride. Maybe it's easier to lower the rear?

Just weighing my options before I buy new tires for the 17's or 18's and new front shocks. I did the rear shocks in the fall.

Any opinions or experiences are appreciated.

Hi, I'm not sure this will help, but all info is good info,
I just installed the Daystar coil spring bushing 1-1/2 fronts and 1-1/2 rear blocks to my 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 2wd. I liked the factory rake on the 2 wd and wanted to maintain it, so I went even front and back. After a lot of help from members on this site i realized that there is not a lot of info out their on the 2WD models, but I did realize that I should stick with 17" wheels and not go 18". Also it is much better to maintain torque. I installed Pro Comp Rear shocks, but the ones they recommended for the front did not fit .... and it turns out they do not make one for the 2 wd. I Picked up a set of front KYB and love them. Then for tire size I went with Nitti- Terra Grappler-2 in 285-70-17 on the stock wheels which I love. here's a few pic's

If your wanting it completely leveled go with the 3.5 inch spindle but u will need new shocks, or u can go with the leveling kit and still have a little rake and not need to shocks. U won't rub with either set up just saying I have a 2 inch leveling kit with 285/70/17 and don't rub. And their a 32.8x11.7

I totally agree that there is not much info out there for the 2wd guys but I am currently running 285/70/17's on my stock wheels on my 04.5. I have a set of 1.5" Daystar spacers that still need to install and I am going to pick up a set of 4th gen 20" wheels to put 295/60/20's on them for the new stance.
