Well I'm pretty sure my HG is leaking coolant at the very back of the motor. It doesn't seem to be a very bad leak and my radiator is usually always close to full, only takes maybe a cup or two of coolant to fill it every few thousand miles so more of a seepage than a leak I guess.
Is it possible that its just seeping out under higher boost? My boost only hits 28psi max on my hx35 with the wastegate blocked off at WOT so I'm not running any kind of crazy boost numbers.
And finally what would you do if you were in my position? Would you just leave it and keep driving and not worry about it? Retorque the head and see if it fixes anything? New Hg? Truck just hit 230k, I also have a pic of the back of the motor and that's about 5k miles worth of buildup.

Coolant leak

It's only going to get worse, and re-torquing won't do anything to fix it. Just plan for a new head gasket (and most likely decking) in the future.

X2. It'll only get worse, fix it before it leaves you stranded.

Running it like that could only lead to more severe problems as well, coolant mixing with your oil etc.

New gasket, studs and if you want, get it o-ringed/fire ringed and you'll be set.

New Hdgskt, surface the head, head studs, valve job(3 angle preferred), O-rings if you can swing 'em and are okay with re-torqueing the head studs several times, might as well have the spring pocket and guides machined for top hat seals if your shop is setup for it.

I have that exact same leak. I believe mine was caused by over heating the engine towing heavy over Eisenhower pass with a partially blocked radiator. I had towed heaver than that before, just never a grade that long. At any rate I nursed it along for 4 years before it started getting pretty bad (gallon every 2 months). I doubt it will leave you stranded or mix with oil. It's an external leak. Combustion, oil, and coolant all remained seperate for me. I run oil analysis so I know for certain it never mixed.

Pull the head, have it checked for flatness. Might as well do the valve guides and valve seals. Studs if you can swing it. There are options regarding studs as well. I do not recommend orings. Plenty of guys running big numbers with nothing more than a flat deck. If you do run orings and have issues down the road requiring machining you have to cut them all over again.
