Is it just me or is it possible that the same .... that can't drive a car to save their lives are the same people (and I use that term loosely) that can't navigate a shopping cart without hitting someone elses's car? Of course its never their own that they hit because for some odd reason karma doesn't apply to these goofs. I went out to wash an inch of bugs off my truck last night and what do I find?.......this:

It seems someone thought my truck had too much paint and removed some for me. The large one is 2" long and the shorter is about half an inch long and they get progressively deeper as you go from front to back. The smaller one actually hits bare metal.

So now that I'm done ranting (for now), my question to the good people of CF is how should I best fix this? So far my plan was to fill the gouges and touch them up with a paint pen (which I'm sure is available from Dodge for some un-reasonable amount). Is that my only option short of a body shop? I want to do it quick as the thought of bare metal being exposed does not sit well with me.

Wow, that really sucks. I say take it to a body shop because there's always a chance you'll mess something up doing it yourself, and the body shop can fix it to look brand new.
I park way out there so it hopefully won't happen. I got a paint pen from Dodge for $8. Same as everywhere else I looked.
that happened to my old truck.... i ended up patching it up with wet sanding it, touch up paint, then wet sand, then buff... came out ok... but 20-30 bucks is a lot cheaper then a panel....
i have noticed that people driving the carts in the store drive them just as crazy as they drive their car on the roads.
Thats a real pissoff, one of the main reasons I always park at the end of the lot is to try and avoid the crazies.

it dosent matter if you park way out in the boone docks, I went to the mall the other day parked out in the outskirts nobody around at all. I came back out and there were two cars one on either side of me with about 40 other empty parking spots around that they could have used, but no they had to park right next to me.

They want the protection of a Cummins :thumbsup
The cummins can still protect just preferably atleast one space away!:thumbsup:hyper:
Wow, I'd probably give them a piece of my mind if they showed up while I was still there, I hate people who park next to you when theres an empty lot.
i going through the some business with insurance and the body shop..my truck got attacked..theres a thread or 2 on it in auto body...you will need to file a police report..that way insurance will make it a priority...then you have to take it to the body shop...the body shop will take pictures to document the damage....make sure that they see e dent if there is one..otherwise insurance will not pay for it

best of luck...by the way..they will have to repaint the whole panel
and as far as the bare metal goes, get a piece of painters masking tape..the adhesive will gradually reamin in that hole and protect the metal...DO NOT TRY IT YOUR SELF...there is probably a dent under there if you look carefully
