asking on behalf of my old man, hes got a 04 3500 Dually 4x4 automatic 3.73 gears 19.5" wheels and heavy load rated tires

his converter is shot after him running stacked edge ez and predator programmer, so its time for a new one.

he wants to get this one but wants to know if its any good?

RevMax billet triple clutch stage 4 torque converter rated for up to 1500tq at flywheel with 2 year warranty, or the revmax billet triple clutch stage 5 rated for unlimited power and 3 year warranty.

he tows heavy with the truck (up to 40k lbs) so its gotta be good for towing as well as holding up to his programmers and fueling boxes.

Are you sure it's his converter and not the transmission (or both)? If the transmission is already a little tired putting a new converter in it may just cause the transmission to fail. If the transmission is fine he may want to look into a valve body as well. With the sort of weight a good lock up converter and valve body is going to put a huge strain on the shafts, and those might start snapping.

No sense throwing in a triple disk tc if hes not going to upgrade several other things. But yes, that is a good brand.

towing 40K with a dodge? He's a suicidal nut, and a danger to every one around him
yeah, he only did that once and bought a semi since then to haul that 30k lb forklift around. he still hauls up to 20-30k with it though with a big gooseneck trailer.

thanks for reply's guys, I will pass the info along. Hes broke at the moment, so think hes just going to do the converter for now and he already took the programmer off the truck so it wont push the trans as hard. think he was trying to tune it to compete with my truck and broke his :hehe:

Alrighty well at least suggest that he talk to the tc supplier about getting one that wont be snapping his shafts when shifting.
