So I am not trying to start an oil war. I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but I'm not trying to start a fight. Now that that is cleared up...I was wondering, back when the the CJ oils were taking the place of the CI+ oils, all the non DPF trucks were going to blow up and the end of the world was near. I have always used Cen-Pe-Co 15w-40 or Schaeffers 5w-40 synthetic. When I bought my 05 3 years ago I basically just stayed with the Cen-Pe-Co since it was CI rated. Most people say the number one killer of diesel motors is soot, I was just wondering if the CJ additive package is better for the non DPF trucks since it is supposed to control soot better? Yes I do the oil analysis thing, this doesn't need to get all scientific, my oil has always come back fine after 10k regardless of which one I use, I was just kinda wondering the general consensus now that the whole thing has calmed down a bit...

My Blackstone analysis readings are identical with the newer CJ oils as they were with the CI's.
The only difference is the Boron readings which are off the chart with the Chevron CJ. Apparently Chevron incudes this in their formula.

Chevron CI is available here for $96/5 gal. I'll pass.

I have no answer as to why someone would intentionally run an oil that has lower levels of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, etc. if their truck does not have a dpf. I will not use CJ-4 oils.
