Or is the navigation system worthless? I can't even get it to find my house, google maps on my phone has zero problems with this. Is there any special tips to get this thing to work properly and find an exact street address? It seems like the truck thinks it's in TX, but I'm in SC.

im not sure but about nav, but they refashed my radio i think 3 times since i owned it. call uconnect, they can look up your software or walk you through. you can also find your version # under apps and settings tab, then system info. this will tell you if you need an update when you call dealer or uconnect with the number from the radio. hope it helps.

That is most likely your problem. You have to set the state that you are searching for an address in. Yours is probably set to Texas and not to SC.

It's a piece of crap Garmin product. When you come from Apple or even Google maps it's hard to swallow the piece of garbage that Garmin tries to package. They still think it's 2003.

Aftermarket nav in my current truck uses the best software I have ever used, it is iGO Primo navigation, works great, shows all the pertinent info on the screen, works really well. Too bad you can't replace the software in the oem radio with it.

I'm gonna say the Nav sucks...

the VR, sucks (I've read the books, use the magic words) and it still doesn't find things I'm looking for...

Why can't it search using that ugly cellular data antenna on the roof? Or barring that, I wish I could SMS addresses to it like my old BMW through Google Maps on my computer.

And when do I get a map update? A new highway opened where I live over a year ago...

I love it. I like to find whereever I want to go on google earth and put the coordinates in the gps. It will literally bring you to within 9 ft of your destination. With ground view in google earth, I've picked out my campsite, drove down the rode, (using the mouse roller) and found the site number signs. Then put that coordinate in the gps. I do this for long trips with my RV, not for finding the nearest rest stop or whatever.
