So I had my 90 3/4 ton straight piped n never got bothered but did put a flow through muffler on it. I straight piped my 93 today it's a 1 ton n I'm wondering if a cop tries to hassle me about it if it's legal?

Also yes it's illegal but not enforced unless you deserve it.

BC Diesel Truck

I have never heard of anyone being told to put a muffler back on yet, I once had an officer tell me my truck sounded good, took my card and did a chip, intake and exhaust (with muffler).

Just a heads up I have my March Special coming up next month is installed exhaust systems.

My truck had a stack on it with no muffler n they flagged it for safety so I put the whole Banks kit back on for it to pass then straight piped it like my 90 was before. I'd be down for that Dave but I don't think you guys carry a 4" exhaust for a 1st gen do you guys?

I had to put a muffler on mine when I got vi. The cop didn't say anything about the exhaust though, he just saw my tires sticking out too far.

Yeah they seem good about it I think but better safe then sorry I think. I'm gonna get a 4" tbe exhaust kit for it yet with a muffler.

My buddies step dad got pulled over for have straight pipe on his 05. But it was registered in sask so it was thrown out, other than that I have never heard of anyone being pulled over for it, that.said when its late or I see a cop I keep my foot out of it to quiet down

My buddy was driving by a comercial vehicle check on HWY 10 in his 2001 2500, one of the guys walked out, pulled him over, and VI'd him for no muffler...

I would have looked at him with my best poker face and said "but officer its a diesel, diesel do not have mufflers"

I see some guys with 5 inch exhausts and no muffler and wonder how they do not get VI'd.. But yea i dont think you're going to pull somthing like that over a comercial inspector, Maybe the odd cop, its just going to keep getting tuffer too, i saw a clip on the news the other day of a diesel smoking out another car and them saying that it is causing lung caner, Not long and they will throw in some more sever regulations for diesels.
