I would think aftermarket piping would help a bit but the BHAF will move alot of air.

The aftermarket systems are nice. I have a aFe stage 1 on my 95'. I'd take one of them over a BHAF but its certianly a nice first step. Only $50 too, can't beat that.

A CAI is supposed to be better because the pipe is smooth on the inside but for the money a BHAF is really nice. You could get a afe filter and stick on the end of your factory tube, I used a S&B filter on mine. i would make a heat shield too.

The CAI is a joke for what most of them cost. The factory tube is smooth inside. Get what ever filter you like that will fit up to the factory tube, then build a heat sheild and have some pride about what you build and that you saved $250:headbang:

BHAF is the way to go. I get more compliments and astonished looks when the hood goes up (ignore the rest of the motor, it's dirty right now:doh:)

I'd have to agree with ShilohSho... anybody can buy stuff and hang it on their trucks - DIY and be proud of it. I've still got the water jet program that made this heat shield - PM if interested. :drool2:

I installed a afe pro 5 stock drop in and I love it, Im thinking about doing the airbox mod, by the way you aren't gonna notice a thing power wise by buying an expensive intake, either get a bhaf or get something different than that junk k&n filter
