I bought a 00' Dodge 2500 4x4 a couple of weeks ago, ran great, bragged to my buddies, then I developed an intermittent miss. First occured while driving steady at about 50mph every few minutes, just a quick miss then runs fine. I was stopping to buy fuel and when turning in it just stone cold died. After trying a few things, replaced fuel filter and finally got it started, filled up with fuel. Ran great for about 1/2 of a tank then started the miss again. It comes and goes. I never get a check engine light. This is my first diesel and I think I am gonna really like it, if I can get this figured out. Any ideas?

see if it has any codes any ways. have you done anything to it as far as power adders? need some more info.

I know of nothing added but a larger exhaust. I do have more info tho. If I fill the truck up it will not miss until down between three quarters of a tank and 1/2. The problem seems worse as I near empty. I have no error codes. I have drained the water seperator and everything looks ok. As I said before, changed the fuel filter. I had a suggestion at work that there might be a crack in the fuel pick up line in the tank. It runs great when full, no smoke, plenty of power, just misses occasionally to quite a bit as the fuel level gets lower. Thanks for your help.

what is the best way to check the pressure? This is my first diesel. I'll have to buy a gauge or can you read it electronically?
