Anyone have any experience with these intake horns?

Intake & Exhaust

This might be my next mod. Any other recommendations? AFE, CFM+, Banks? I want something where I can keep the grid heater in place and I thought I read with Banks you can't do that.

Intake horns on 2nd gen a waste of money, unless you just want it for looks.

Really? I've been reading on these forums that they help the airflow going in, increase spool up, add a little bottom end, lower EGT's, etc. Is this all BS? So with a 4" exhaust, BHAF and a chip an intake will do no good?

Intake horns on 3rd gen trucks do make a difference, they have a very restrictive stock intake horns. 2nd gens flow much better. Put your money somewhere else like a small set of injectors. Rv275's will give you about 40hp and maybe 1-2mpg.

Ahh, dam. I was thinking about 275 injectors before but was discouraged by process. It seems like it could be tough, especially the back two. And the cheapest shop in town wants 250 labor if I bring them in myself.

There's got to be some from one of the forums around you to give you a hand. There not very hard to install. My first set took about 2 hrs install.

That DTT looks like one nice piece. And that link proves it does more than just sit there. 30hp / 40tq isn't bad. Anyone know where to call to ask about one?

Thanks, Mike.

Just went back and checked the dyno sheet/post at TDR website, the 30hp/40tq was on a 2006 with twin turbos. If still interested DTT 1-866-504-4002.

A local shop tested Banks, CFM and ATS. Recently they added a Glaicer test and heater grid delete test. My plans are for the CFM.

Did THEY observe any power increase with their test? If so was it on a second gen? I hear conflicting reports on different sites.

Thx, Mike.

If it's the same report I seen, they were all tested on 3rd gen trucks. Darn near any intake will flow better then 3rd gen.
