putting my engine together this week. Need some ideas or guidance on a few things.

1. Wastegate. I know external but how to plumb it. Do you plumb the small turbo or large turbo?

2. Shooting for 500hp. What are the best size injectors?

3. What should I set the timing to? Needs to keep egt's in check since I will be towing a lot.

4. Should I upgrade the delivery valves?

5. Should I upgrade the fuel pump? I know the stockers are good for 500hp but I dont wanna run on the edge.

are you towing alot cause 500 is not hard to get with a single turbo

1. I wouldnt waste the money on an external gate if your only shooting for 500hp
2. 5x.014"
3.Depends on if you have studs or not, 16-18*
4. What pump do you have cause 181's would be plenty
5. Get a fuel pressure gauge then you can tell if you need a lift pump or not

the reason for the external gate is the turbo setup i have has no provisions for internal gates.

i have studs and 60lb springs already so should be good there.

ive got the 160hp pump. was planning on doing 191 dv's but have read a lot about them being smoky and hard to tune. ordered a 3k & 4k gsk. will try the 4k first.

already have the gauge. just didnt know if the stock pump staying close to its limit would run it too close.

In my opinion:
1) gate the secondary and let the big turbo spin as it wants
2) 5x.012" should be enough and would run nice and cool. 5x.014" would have fuel to spare but be a little hotter
3) Another vote for 16-18* depending on the trucks use and if you have studs or o-rings
4) No, stockers are enough
5) 500 is well within the capacity of the stock pump, you won't be on the edge at all with a fresh stock pump and new OFV. If you're worried try upgrading the small fuel lines before the pump to help it get fuel or add a cheap pusher pump to feed it. Get a gauge and it will tell you the story.

What turbos are you using that don't have provisions for internal wastegates?
