Drove it 20 miles home tonight, mostly highway. So far my observation is the pedal is stiffer and the clutch lets out at the top.

Noise so far doesn't bother me. The onyl time i listened for gear rollover it seemed like it was gone by about 1400 in 4th.

I need to drive it alot more to report further but so far i am happy. Clutch engagement is fine to me. A little grabby but fine.

I am running Gorilla juice in both diffs and the tranny.

Just filled my diffs with Go-Juice aswell  haven't got to drive it much but let me know if for some reason you run into an issue with it. We filled a costumers G-56 with it and he loves it... (I never could notice a difference with different fluids)...

I had a dual disk in my 06 and always had a horrible shutter while backing when towing, let me know when you have the chance if this also happens to you...

Adjust your pedal to get the let out lower. The grabbiness will smooth out some, but not totally go away. I put several thousand miles on, than I power braked it in 3rd and that seemed to help it smooth out more than anything else. You'll find you need to raise the RPMs when you back with a trailer to avoid the jerk.

The ceramics are going to be grabby compared to the organic DD's.

I'm thinking you want to re-adjust your clutch engagment. This (including the typo) is directly from Valair:

"12. Hydraulic adjustment
Adjust the clutch pedal so that the clutch will start to engage when the
pedal is 2-3in off the floor. Adjusting the pedal to high will cause
clutch slippage and premature clutch wear."

Did you adjust the clutch pedal I know on my SBC it is adjustable and im sure it is too on a Valair. You wont want that clutch engaging at top of stroke forever
Yes it's adj. I am going to drive it easy for the break in period and then adjust.

Thanks BioMan. Wonder if the shop adj it to it's limit or just didn't know this...

I don't mind the grabby nature. I can adjust driving style and it only affects 2nd gear take offs IMO. I can tell it's gonna hold like crazy.

For you guys with double discs, if you are in the cab and stopped with engine idling, if you adjust the rpms does it affect the rattle at idle. It was brought up a while ago that HS might be able to give us a higher rpm at idle. I was just womdering if it would help any. My clutch is almost shot and and want the quietest clutch and what it takes to make it that way. Thanks

YES, if i just barely touch the pedal, the clutch gets alot quieter.

Mines not real loud anyway , it is louder than stock but its not as bad as i was expecting.

If i leave the truck run for a few minutes while im getting out, i just bump the high idle to 1100 and it quietens it right up !

Drove mine around today to work and errands. At times its fairly loud and other times its quiet. With the windows up it isn't bad. You can def hear it more with the windows down.

My pedal is pretty hard to push. Much harder than I epxected. Anybody else with the same story?

I know I need to adj the adj'ing rod. We had major storms today. First day I can get out there, I will.

I adjusted the rod and it got easier to push. I could only adjust it a little or the truck wouldn't start. I think the installer left out the two o-rings. one is rubber and one is felt from the old assembly. Hoping that adding those will make the difference.

One thing i can say is that Valair did not include with the clutch much in the way of instructions. I got the hydro install instructions from the web I think. I don't remember seeing them in any of the boxes.

it's my fault i didn't take my printed stuff off the web down to the installer. I got busy at work and forgot.

I will update after I get the two pieces put in and re-adjust.

I have @ 4000 miles on the new Valair DD organic now, its doing just fine.

I am getting ready to adjust my pedal some though, it is engaging a little higher now than it was at first.

I guess its because its been broken in and needs a little pedal tweak...It was engaging @ 1 inch off the floor and i adjusted it to 3 or 4 in. off the floor , it now feels like its closer to the top of the pedal ...
