hey guys, i have the truck that is in my sig... am i crazy for wanting to trade it/sell it?

i have put over $15k into it, still owe $7kish on it. would i be dumb? i hate to take the loss but im just getting a little tired of it. the ST non power everything is a little annoying now. id much rather have a heated leather, power everything, megacab. does this sound crazy to anyone?

found an 06 mega with 75K miles i really like. LOADED with everything, even a sunroof. only problem is they want $34k. that seems like a little too much to me? anyone else?

i was told by another dealer that they would give me $6k on trade in

SCHOOL ME PLEASE! NEED INPUT!!!

That 06 is waaaaay to high. Like around $8k too high.

And dealers are going to lowball you to death on your truck. I flat tell then I'm sorry I wasted their time when they bring me back offers like that. I told one their offer was insulting once. They tried a little harder after that but still didnt get there.

Idk your financial situation but money wise you'll be out less money trading if you buy one, swap your performance parts on it, and sell your current ride outright.

I'm not going to advise you to trade or not, cause I'm the last person who should ever give that advice.

well my problem is, i dont have any extra cash in the bank to throw down on it. and i still owe nearly $7000 on my rig right now.

i wouldnt mind trading it at this dealer but i dont want to be 1)raped by them on that $34k price 2) be raped on them trying to give me $12k for my truck on trade in.... and i would sell mine outright but i have no other ride to drive while i get another truck...

i just dont know what to do. haha

Then just drive what you got. It's cheaper in the end.

There. Now I can say I gave grown up advice :hehe:

It happens bud. I've been there many times myself.

But if you do trade, sell yours and get a rental till you find one. It's a little pricey, but it does take some pressure off

Sorry, save your money and pay off your current rig. They are not going to give you what you want for trade in becuase they can play one card that is not in your favor. And it will pretty much go like this, oh, you have a manual, well we just can not sell those so we are going to have to reduce your trade in price.

Now, go find a crashed 05 larmie rip the seats out make sure to get the wiring harness, okay leather seats taken care of. To be honest the aftermarket leather seats are usually of better quality.

Okay what else did you want.

you have a sweet truck for interior upgrades in my opinion.

definitely try to trade it up at a truck dealer for a small loss but like they said dealers wont give you fair value on the manual unless they have zero on the lot and they see frequent cummins buyers (RARE)

so take a peak at some quality interiors :confused013:

Just get the parts bit by bit for your rig man. Make yours custom to your likings and yeah it might not be all at once but in the end you will have what you want and brand new too. The other thing is that you know how your truck has been taken care of, and you have no idea what that 34 grand will give ya in the long run!

^^^^ Im gonna throw my 2 cents in on this. I bought a 2007 Dually for $31000 last Nov. two months of ownership and I'm rebuilding the engine due to dirt in the fuel tank. If yours has run flawlessly this long I say you have an excellent candidate for custom equipment.

At work talking to you guys!!

Don't know what you have for facilities to work on your truck, or if truck is your DD. Just to throw another option into the mix. Buy a Laramie cab- fix all that you want changed in it- on a nice spring day have some friends over and do a cab swap- then sell your old cab. If you try changing a piece at a time-it might become the never ending story.

As you just got a job as a hot shot driver you won't have time to drive the truck you have now either SO.............why not put the ride youhave now up for sale, get what you want for it and look for something that realy floats your boat out on the road?
so you might be without a ride for a couple 'o' months? Buy a POS beater car to use while (if) you're at home?
just my 0.02
