injector number 1 barfs (lost power, miss-fired), throws code, clears up & now works fine. motor is running so good actually i am wondering if maybe something went thru it and cleared it out well. tossed codes p0201 & p2146. i have about 200 miles on it since this happened.

any thoughts?

2005 truck, smarty installed on 90 hp setting iirc with rail pressure turned up some. The code has since cleared itself and the truck is running awesome.

165k on the motor...

If you're concerned then pull that stick that threw the code and get it tested to be for sure.

165k miles on the injectors?
do you have an aftermarket 2 micron fuel filter water separator on it for the 165k?

if not, pull and get them all tested. do your valves at the same time

boosting rail pressure beyond spec increases injector wear rate drastically. Bosch lab testing indicated that 10% increase in rail pressure led to over 30% increase in injector wear rate.

No 2 micron filter, just a fairly steady diet of my favorite cleansers...

I just recently bumped the pressure, for the most part it's set at the factory setting.

valves, what valves?

Drove home 110 mi tonight and it runs better then it has in a long time. power is smoother & it does not seem to downshift a whole lot.

I'm sure he was talking about the intake and exhaust valves. You might have ran a shot of water through a injector or a needle stuck for a split second.

ah... I did those about 6~8 weeks ago, no problems there. ran it 500+ miles since the bobble and runs fine. Oil level is fine, power is fine... so IDK... will leave it as is for now
