I'm rebuilding my engine, needs cylinder boring so I have to take it down to the bare block for the machine shop ( I think ). Is there a way to remove the injection pump without screwing up the timing? If not, any suggestions?

There is a pin on the underside, that lines up with a hole in the backside of the cam gear. just line it up when tearing down ,and putting back together. Heres pics. TSB 18-10-94 Rev. A

Pump Removal

Yep, after researching and actually removing the pump, I found that the gear has to come off to get the pump off and the gear is only on a taper with no key. Timing kit required. Since I am rebuilding and the engine is out, I just bought a Snap-on 32 point socket and dial indicator holder, and a $40 dial indicator off Ebay. Checked my timing before removing the pump and it was on the money.
