My 2000 cummins is running poorly. When under little to no load, at wot, it sputters with white smoke. Also, it stalls out when shifted into gear(Auto trans). Otherwise, cruising down the road, it runs fine. I'm pretty sure the low pressure fuel supply is in doing its job. I've installed a holly lift pump and new fuel filter. The only dtc present is p0216. Is there any way to troubleshoot the vp44 or could a sensor be malfunctioning without setting a dtc of its own?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

well your in the wrong part of the forum (might move to 98.5-02 powertrain), but while your hear..... the p0216 is a death code, your VP is going to die soon so i would defiantly start looking/saving for a new one, theres really not too much else check or do but replace it before it leaves you stranded... sorry for the bad news but good luck for the future:thumbsup:
