I was wondering if any one is using a 488 or I think a 520 gear in their truck, with a 48RE trans, stock tires.

If so, what gearing and what RPM are you turning at 70mph??

i'm running a low od ratio g56 with 373's and am hitting 2300 @ 70. with that low of a gear ratio i would guess about 3k or close. dopnt believe they offer those ratio's fo our rear ends

just curious why would you need such a deep gear with stock tires?? you would prolly top out at 70mph around 3K i would think

I ran 4:56 on my superduty with 40" tires and 22" wheels. My cummins has 37's on 20's with 4:11 and it's perfect but it's high horse also...

I am running 4.88s with 42s and at 75 I am at 2100rpms. They do make 5.13 but no one had them when I was regearing mine. I am glad they were out, FWIW 4.56 are stronger. If you do this you will not pass up very many fuel stops, I know that you want get better than 12mpg.

why do u need them and you prob couldnt get to 70 before running out of RPM on the 5.xx gears
