just wondering if a II phat shaft 62/14 would be enough to support some ddp 150s? the injectors are on the way so i need to find a turbo fast!Mostly looking at daily driving maybe tow and sled pull a few times a year. thanks

My 62/14 cleared all the smoke from the drag comp and smarty on the dyno (492/1120) and just a very slight haze while on the street. with the ported manifold and match ported turbo housing it was hard to get to 1450-1500. can't really complain about egt's at all. going to a so pump and sps 62/14 for pulling. you need a clutch call dan with valair. it'll hold . :peelout

if your going to buy, get the SPS 62 or a PS or SPS 64 great turbos and will hold up to alot. And they may be more $ than a Super B Special, but its a superior charger and can support more HP. IMHO, and its been proven. And a Hot Rod VP44 from Industrial Injection will bump you up by 100HP +/-.

I wouldn't waste the money on a HRVP if you've got a wire tap box. Seen to many dynos between the HRVP and the SO and there's little if any difference in power and what little there is definitely doesn't justify the extra $800. Not to mention that the HRVP sometimes has a goofy lope to the idle. If you didn't have a wire tap box then I'd say go for it.

That combo might run a tad on the warm side but it'll be a great running combo.

I wouldn't run anything over windshield washer fluid without studs and just make sure not to spray until your truck is at full operating temp and the t-stat has opened.

yeah go with the the sps 62/71/14 it will move more air than the ps 62/65/14, it will keep things cooler and have more top end! or you could have them build you a sps 62/74/14 like the silver 62 except for the polished housing for maybe a little cheaper!! i have the sps 62 with ddp 150's, it stays manageable on the interstate between 600-1000, under 1200 if pullin a hill and turn the box off and you can tow anything! I've never seen over 1500 unloaded at wot

i have one of scheid's hrvps and it seems like a durable pump nut it's not worth the extra money for the little power gain and an f-ed up idle
